About Us

Our Story

Sakura Kitchen was born from a simple obsession: to cook Japanese food the way it's meant to be eaten — with respect for ingredients, patience in technique, and warmth at the table. Head chef Hiroshi Yamamoto trained in Tokyo and Osaka before making Singapore his home in 2014. In 2018, he and his wife Mei opened Sakura Kitchen on Lorong Mambong, a quiet corner of Holland Village that felt, to them, like the right neighbourhood for a restaurant built on honesty and care. We source as close to daily as possible, and we change our menus when nature asks us to — not when marketing demands it.
